Christmas Capes

Updated: Feb 10, 2020

Early in the morning on December 14th, Battle High School’s cafeteria was decorated with presents, elves, and the special guest: Santa! Kids were invited to come stop by from nine a.m. to eleven a.m. to enjoy Breakfast with Santa!

Earlier that morning, volunteers gathered to help set up the event, by wrapping fake presents, setting out fun activities for the kids such as coloring, and getting into their costumes! One of our super amazing students volunteered and told us her favorite part was getting to talk with Leutchmann, who was the beloved Santa for the event!

I was given the amazing opportunity of interviewing Mr. Leutchmann and he told me about his favorite part of the event. A little girl went up to him and told him: “Santa, I know you’re super busy getting everyone else presents, so I made one for you.” Or something alike. She handed him a box wrapped in paper which inside held a handmade clay owl made by this girl with the help of her father. She molded, put it in the kiln, painted it, and everything! This beautiful gift was rightfully hung on Mr. Leutchmann’s Christmas Tree for the remainder of Christmas, and will be seen up once again next year.

Not all heroes wear capes, some wear Santa suits.
